Storywalk Read-a-long

Wednesday, June 97:00—8:00 PMOutsideAvon-Washington Township Public Library498 N. Avon Ave, Avon, IN, 46123

You are invited to join us for Nature Play Days! Walk the trail from the library to Avon Town Hall Park between 7:00-8:00 PM. Everyone who completes the trail will be entered into a prize drawing.

Our StoryWalk is a fun and educational resource for children and adults to enjoy literacy, physical activity and the outdoors all at the same time. A StoryWalk is a series of posted cases featuring sequential spreads from a children’s picture book and as you stroll down the trail, you're directed to the next page in the story. There are 20 cases in the short path.

Registration for this event begins June 2. Register for a 15 minute time slot by calling the Children's Department at 317-272-4818 (in order to allow for social distancing on the trail, we will allow each family or group to start their walk a few minutes apart). On-line registration is not available for this program. You must call to register! We ask that masks be worn. Please arrive at the beginning of the trail (behind the library at the Sycamore Creek neighborhood entrance) during the 15 minute time slot you register for. Please park in the library's front lot. The back parking lot is for employees only.

Storywalk books are recommended for beginning readers up to age 10. They are picture books that have between 15-18 pages. We have another Storywalk with a different book at the Washington Township Park, on the path behind the children's playground and shelter. Each month, from March to November, the books in both parks are changed during the first week of the month. We encourage you to check it out with your family!
